>what was your rationale in replacing Mind Manager with MindGenius?

Main reasons

1. An “Explorer view” of the map as an outline speeds up navigation and makes working with large MindMaps possible. Large mindmaps in MindManager are almost impossible or at best very slow, to navigate around. For me this extends the useability of Mind Genius tremendously. Particularly in meetings where I will be able to work in the overview and quickly shift focus to a single topic and then switch back to the overview.

2. Brainstorming is very quick and intuitive in MindGenius, allowing a free flow of information. In MindManager it is stil pretty quick, but needs more steps to get any ideas into an actual map, and it has a clunkier feel to it.

3. The range of views (Mind Genius has more than just the Mind Map view available)extends Mind Genius beyond MindMapping and gives an opportunity to arrange the final data set in a format suited to a range of purposes.

4. You can switch focus and redraw the map to make a sub-topic into the central topic.

5. The notes editor sits underneath the explorer window and makes adding and viewing notes more useable.

6. In general Mind Genius just had a faster feel to it.

However, I am still using MindManager a bit and haven’t yet made up my mind which is my “standard”, which could well end up as being Inspiration !

Graham
