I have used TakeNote! and quite like it for organizing and writing. It has a bibliography function.

The program is long overdue for a revision. I have written about three times to the company asking about plans for revision, but have never received a response.

Too bad. The program has potential, and there is a market for a low to medium end academic tool. Unfortunately for the product’s future development, TakeNote! already has much of that market tied up through deals with text book publishers.
