Charlie,

Thanks for the explanation. What I meant by “interferes less in a database” was this. In an outliner intended for organizing a writing, the two pane format inferes with continuity. In a database continuity is less important, so the compromises imposed by two panes are _less_ a burden, even if they *also* impose something of a burden on users of a database, when two panes are companed to one.

I don’t know what is meant by interference with a database,
