Recent discussion of ADM (and my recent playing around with the latest version) brought this question to mind…

What is the difference between “keywords” and simply “words in the item,” i.e., content?

In other words, if I want an item to be searchable via certain keywords, can’t I just type those keywords in at the bottom of the item’s content, assuming the keywords aren’t already in the content?

In other words, how is typing

outliners.com,ADM,keywords

within the item text different than assigning each of these three keywords to an item through a separate interface?

I must confess to being partial to how Ultra Recall, Zoot, Info Select and others work in this regard, in that the content is what provides keywords. If you want to tag items with some other scheme, you can do so easily by simply entering in the words that will tag the item.

Am I missing something? The only caveat I can see to my approach is that I may want to prepare a document that does not contain my internal representation of keywords/tags. But it’s easy enough to delete a line or two of text in this case.
