The price/power ration is certainly to be considered when evaluating any of these applications.

Yes and no, in my opinion. What’s $50 “too much” if you choose to use it? It isn’t like anybody can (or at least should) use more than a handful of them, if that.
The “good buys” in my experience often produce bad decisions. I bought InfoRecall because it was a good buy, but I doubt I’ll ever use it.
