Absolutely… speaking for myself, of course. For example: if you’re writing a story, you can use the columns to detail which characters are in a scene or the basic timeline of the story. Or in building a project, you can use the columns to mark assignments and due dates.—Steve Zeoli

First of all, given the difficulties of creating a single interface fitting for a combined outliner or an outliner-based knowledge processor—at least in a mouse-driven system—Omni is going to either be great or a flop. At least qua outliner. Right?

Some of the things you would do with columns, such as the story, I would prefer to use clones. I guess the best practice would depend on whether you anticipate further grades of classification, e.g. groupings by kinds of character roles.
