I believe you can set up a hierarchical system of classifying your information through rules, by assigning an item to a virtual sub-folder if the item also meets the rule that would assign it to the parent-folder, although, I don’t seet he purpose of have sub folders in the context, so maybe I’m missing the essence of your question.

Say you had a parent folder that applied rule A. You might, hypothetically, assign to child folder b the items to which you apply rule A and another rule rule b.
