If I understand 1-1/2 as you mean it, GV could do either.

You start an outline item. You can type as much or as little as you want. As few or as many sentences as you want. If you wish, you can type several paragraphs. GV then allows you to hide all but the first paragraph, should you wish, or to dispaly it…your choice.

You can, of course, also create subitems which have the same abilities.
