Having just received my Dell computer a couple of days ago, I rushed to try the outliners running on Windows XP. Here are some impressions:

1. MaxThink: Unconventional interface. I like it so far, but there’s almost no documentation yet to help me figure it out. I hope Neil can provide some help.

2. NoteMap: Polished program, but few innovations and a surprising 9-level limit on outline levels.

3. Microsoft OneNote: I’m still downloading the trial copy, 80 MB worth. Despite the size of the program, the online descriptions don’t show a plethora of features.
