Many of us (well, I THINK it’s many) use more than one PIM because none of the current ones have all that we need.

This may be changing.

I mentioned Ariadne a few days ago.  Now I’ve learned of another project that seems to have money behind it and the critical mass of people (programmers, designers, etc.) to develop a major offering.  The product’s name is Chandler, and Mitch Kapor (remember Agenda?) is behind it.  It’s sort of in Version 0.2 now and they hope to have a 1.0 release in 2005.  (By then, I may well be retired.)

There are other offerings as well that I’ve only recently learned of.

The following is a list:

Info Angel:  <http://www.angelicsoftware.com/>

TexNotes ( http://www.gemx.com <http://www.gemx.com> )

MyInfo:  <http://www.milenix.com/myinfoTour.php> [This has been around for a while, but has some interesting features]

TreeDBNotes Pro: http://www.softviewer.com/office/detail.asp?id=5481

NetSnippets:  http://www.netsnippets.com/    $80

TakeNote: http://www.academixsoft.com/  $40

Chandler: http://www.osafoundation.org/Chandler_Compelling_Vision.htm
        http://www.osafoundation.org/OSAF_Our_Vision.htm

For those interested in these, most have been discussed in the Ecco Pro Yahoo Group (groups.yahoo.com)in the thread “Any PIM as good as ECCO?”  (The thread has some separated pieces that are not linked to the main thread, so you may wish to use the message index rather than just following the thread.)

I think I’m approaching overload.
