>I have a file with lots of important writings and thinkings which somehow got corrupted. And, it seems, so have my back ups?? Word won’t read it. MacLink won’t read it. I’m a non-techie ...but can you recommen a strategy to save this file.

Just a thought, but have you tried increasing MORE’s memory allocation in the Finder and then trying to open the file? It’s possible it’s not actually corrupted but has just grown too big for MORE to open under its default memory allocation.

If this solution works, it’s probably a good idea to save a new copy of the file at once under a different name; this’ll almost certainly reduce file size, and may cure the problem.

Nick.
