I may be misunderstanding your problem, but isn’t this all unnecessary? MORE 3.1 will export directly to Word 4 outlines, which any later version of Word can read. Just use Save As… for a whole document or Send To… for a subset. (This doesn’t of course deal with the problem of getting the files off your old machine, which presumably you’ll have to do via an AppleTalk serial connection to, er, something.)
