Hi folks.

I have just got myself one of the most useful outliners I have ever come across.

It is called Treepad (Business Edition) from www.treepad.com and it has so many features, maybe, in a sense, too many.

Also, the bit which please me hugely, is that there is to be a Linux version early next year(2003).

I am head developer and IT mangler, er, manager at a small company over here in the UK.  I find that outliners are a fantastic tool for me to organise tasks and thoughts.  The ability to cross-link to articles and nodes within the outline document is very inportant indeed.  So much so, that until recently, I was still using a hypercard application I built on my old 1989 SE/30.  Incredibly, I was using the SE/30 just for that purpose too!  Wonderful little machine.  However, the tree structure was not there (in my app) ans so the system was a little unwieldy, as I used a large menu system instead.

Back to Treepad; the only feature it is missing (for me anyway) is a macro system, to automate tasks.  I would welcome a facility so that I could write code syntaxers and use it to develop projects like I did when I used to code with Frontier - ahhh… happy memories.

Anyway, have fun folks and take care,

Neil J. McLeish
