These are all good suggestions. Of these, the one that sounds as if it best will meet your needs is NoteMap. I’ve used it for a year now and like it. I think it is a bit expensive. A less expensive alternative is Ovation Outliner, available at

However, it is not as powerful as NoteMap. Either one can be downloaded and tried before buying.
