Yes that’s a good idea, never thought of it. Like I said here as in emailing self a reminder and not opening it before time. One gets really itchy to just open it.

The other advantage of using a browser or whatever desktop software for lots of SMS in one go, apart from keyboard, is easy monitoring of lots of in/out traffic. Not easy for too many in a short time in a phone, as in events etc.

The precautions I take is to use a free or dollar SIM for the purpose, or a secondary voice account. Like we have secondary emails for registering, etc that might spam us. Although the top few websites & extensions are fairly good at not doing so or selling numbers on, I just don’t risk it. I have a few spare free or dirt cheap SIMs always anyway.

The other precaution is to let people know it’s a temporary SIM. So don’t have to check it for replies in future.
