A new version of MindNode—a handsome mind mapping application for Mac and iOS—is available on the two App Stores.

https://mindnode.com

There’s a few new features, but this is mainly a more polished version of an application that was already well polished.  (A new menubar app is available for collecting notes on the fly and later creating a mind map from them).  I’ve always enjoyed using MindNode—not as well-featured as IThoughts (whose interface is getting a tired and dowdy) or MindManager on Windows (which will never not be dowdy).

Pricing of the update on macOS is a bit confusing—either nothing, or $14.99 or $39.99—but when I installed the trial it offered me a low price because I used an earlier version, so I took the offer.

Mind Node has been useful for me with one limiting factor. As nicely as the program works, it bugs me a little to have to have a central thought. Too many times thoughts best swarm as peers rather than descend from a hierarchy.

In your brush with the new version, is there enough there to justify the upgrade? I’m kind of thinking about it. Haven’t decided.

Sorry about the duplicate. No idea how I managed to do that. My error, I’m sure.
