Trello has just announced the availability of the desktop app for macOS and Windows:

Thanks for the notice.  I like Trello, but it does not fit well into most of my work needs.  I should probably give it another look to see if they have addressed some of the features I needed, but I still suspect that it will be a limited use tool for me.

I saw that yesterday. It doesn’t seem to have the ability to work offline, which is surely the main selling point for a desktop app?

I notice lots of people in the comments on the Trello blog are asking for a Linux version, which surprises me as there has been very little call for a Linux version of Hyper Plan. Perhaps that is because Hyper Plan users are paying customers, whereas the vast majority of Trello users are using it free?

That does sound weird, but I have not had any time to check it out.  On a side note, Hyperplan is one of the few apps that I am interested in evaluating for my needs when time permits.  I am still happy with MLO, but there are days when its UI does seem just a bit overwhelming.  I wish I knew why I never felt that way about using ECCO, but that is another story altogether.

FYI Trello simply purchased Milosz Falinski’s ‘Paws For Trello’ Mac/Windows app and is making it available direct. Paws For Trello will remain a free app until the end of October before Trello starts only supporting it’s own app with updates.
