Eduard Metzger has an iOS beta in play for NotePlan—a very cool porting of the macOS app to the iOS platform.  Sync via iCloud.  NotePlan keeps getting better and better.

NotePlan for iOS is now out of beta.

Review from Brett Terpstra here https://www.macstories.net/news/noteplan-calendar-markdown-notes-comes-to-ios/

On my iPad, NotePlan sits side-by-side with Outlinely (which also continues to evolve nicely on iOS)—sharing notes and calendar info from NotePlan to and from Outlinely is pretty good.  Same thing with Bear.  With Outlinely and Bear (probably other apps) if you share from Outlinely / Bear to NotePlan you can either send a link back to the note in the source app, or you can select some or all of the text in the note and share that to NotePlan.

The iPhone instance of NotePlan is also great.

Congratulations to Eduard Metzger—NotePlan is a good, solid calendar + notebook integration and it’s great to have it as a citizen on both Apple platforms, macOS and iOS,

Thanks for the link to Bret’s review. I learned a few things I didn’t know about NotePlan.

I have been using NotePlan the past couple of weeks and am really enjoying it. To me it makes sense as a digital bullet journal. I made a semi-comprehensible video about that:

I concur that Eduard deserves a lot of credit for this fine and—as far as I can tell—truly unique approach to note taking and task planning.

I’ve had Drafts on my iPad dock for years.  I demoted it today and replaced it with NotePlan in the Dock.  First, because Drafts is great but aged and cranky.  Second, because NotePlan is far better for shuttling notes around devices—and the linkage between notes-calendar-reminders is a high-value feature set.

Eduard just sent out an email announcing that NotePlan 2.0 for iOS will be available on Wednesday, December 13. Here’s a rundown of the new features:

This is not a free upgrade. It will be $12 for the first 48 hours, then $15 (U.S.).
