iOS 10—out this week—adds a feature available from any iOS Print dialog—e.g., in Mail, Safari, Airmail, and so on.  When the print dialog opens, use the spread-fingers-outward gesture on the page preview and the document is converted to a PDF that can be saved in any app that accepts PDFs.

In Safari if you first put the web page into Reader mode you can print an ad-free version of the PDF.

This feature makes iOS a better companion for researchers.

Well spotted. That does indeed massively improve the whole research/info-gathering experience on iOS. Hm. Now I’m feeling strong temptation to upgrade my iPad Mini to a big iPad… I shall resist!

Just tried it out, and it works as advertised. Thanks for pointing this out. It’s a feature I’m sure I’ll use often.
