Hello everyone,

I lurk on the zootforum and outliners-pims yahoogroups lists.

I’m looking for a Mac outliner (preferably single pane) to organize notes, URLs, and web page snippets. I use Zoot on the PC but the developer will never port it to Mac. I bought Zoot to replace Ecco Pro and yearn for the Ecco features that Zoot lacks, especially the one-pane interface.

An Ecco/Zoot feature I can’t live without is assigning one item to multiple folders/categories.

UltraRecall looks ok but the developer has no Mac plans.

I’m looking at OmniOutliner but as I don’t have a Mac so it’s tough to evaluate.

FWIW I’d like to switch to from PC to Mac (details if you like). The only application I can’t find is a decent information organizer such as an outliner. I’m not looking for a mind mapper like BrainStorm.

Thanks for your consideration.

Hello Mike.

A good resource with reviews of (mostly) Mac outliners is http://www.atpm.com/Back/atpo.shtml. Here you find in-depth articles (with screenshots) on Omnioutliner, TAO, Notetaker, Notebook, etc.

Thanks, Franz, ATPM is a great resource! Sorry for not responding sooner, I’ve been preparing for and participating 48 Hour Film Project http://www.48hourfilm.com/ (now in the Washington, DC phase of the worldwide tour).
