For Android users… I’ve come across an honest-to-goodness single pane outliner, and a rather capable one at that.  It’s called Linelo.  It’s free and you can find it either at the Google store or at Torr Apk the alternative download site for free Android apps.

You can expand and collapse lines, easily move lines around the outline (using a clever compass-like controller that works like arrow keys on a standard keyboard), use different text styles (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough) in different lines, add in links to websites, etc.

I had an e-mail exchange with the developer this morning and he plans additional improvements, including in-line edting, and is also working on a Windows version.  Also, there is a Linelo.com website that apparently allows you to sych and work on your outline online.

This seems to have promise as a single pane product, so am looking forward to its development.

Thanks; looks good, pity that it requires Android 2.3.3 and up :-( I’m on 2.1 )
