Sorry to do this to you, fellow CRIMPers…

Just came across this new interesting take on a mind-mapping/database combo called Brainstreamer - http://www.brainstreamer.com/brainstreamer/index.jsp .

It’s only been out for a few weeks. I’ve just started playing around with the trial, so I don’t know if it will resonate with me or not. The concept seems interesting. One limitation I’ve already noticed is that you are limited to predefined item types, but apparently creating your own types is in the works. I do like the idea of one big mind map where you can change focus to different levels at any time.

I like the concept - but I really dislike Java apps. This one doesn’t seem overly slow, but the text editor is pretty lame.

Also, the concept seems to be very similar to Personal Brain, in that each node can become the root/home node of the map.

I’m resisting running the trial but I have a question. The info seems to imply that you can toggle between an editable outline and mapping view. Is that true?

If so it is one of very few apps that allow you to do that.

Hi all,

I am the author of BrainStreamer.
The editable outline is currently not available but is planned for the future as I am currently working on integrating a calendar in BrainStreamer.
I guarantee that there is no spy- or adware and that it wont mess up your system.
Can I ask why you are resisting running the trial ?
