Hello fellow-travellers,

I am very, very new at all of this, so bear with me as I try and catch up by wondering back in time.

I have only started looking into various software options in the past couple of months or so; and in the course of those searches I often found myself being re-directed back to this forum from disperse and disparate websites - so I just decided to stick around awhile and read through some of the archives. However, it is not merely within the archives that I find myself retained, but more pertinantly are the recent postings keeping me pinned here. So, I figure, if I have to suffer, then you all might as well learn to suffer me as well. - sorry!

Not only am I new to software concerns, but even just this computing business is all very new to me, therefore this is my first forum (as for the usual social-media, forgetaboutit!), so if my propriety is lacking I am certain that some kind soul will gently correct me (or just tell me to naff off). There are many recent posts I could have, or would like to, comment upon, but for now I will just update this older post with the information that IdaeMason is still seemingly alive (though I am yet to establish whether it is well). I hope it is heathy enough because I am about to launch into learning it (amongst a multitude of others) under trial conditions. However, a writer on wordpress has recently posted some videos of her experience with IdeaMason, and interlinearly one gets the idea that the developers are still in the game and somewhat on the ball ... which is good to know, because I don’t want to learn it and then not be able to use it after the trial.

The wordpress blog/videos (from about 7 Months ago)  are here: http://theblossomingfledglingresearcher.wordpress.com/2013/07/09/videos-idea-mason-demos-a-ridiculously-fabulous-academic-research-and-writing-software-program/
and the author has in the past several days lightly revisited IdeaMason here: https://theblossomingfledglingresearcher.wordpress.com/category/idea-mason/

I would be interested to know if anyone here has been using IdeaMason more recently than June 2012; and if so, how does the program stand in relation to similar academic/writerly software?

In the meantime, I am off to dust down (or even find) my German dictionary - there is a Zettelkasten I want to look into (via: http://www.outlinersoftware.com/topics/viewt/5267/0/luedeckes-zettlekaten), see you there ...
